There were several such ranges set up across the UK during WW2. It does not seem to have had the purpose built equipment as at Boyton. There were well established ways of producing setting up such temp suitable ranges. Orford also included a short battle run.<br />pdboyinsuffolkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11605928856517954952noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8615291207225433851.post-83409173873922157702013-11-21T12:46:05.106-08:002013-11-21T12:46:05.106-08:00Hello Adrian,

I will have to look up my notes to give more detail. The large block houses would have contained winches for hauling targets behind banks and on rails. The blockhouses at Boyton are rather atypical when compared with those on other AFV ranges.pdboyinsuffolkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11605928856517954952noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8615291207225433851.post-90551130901236804772012-03-28T11:23:35.011-07:002012-03-28T11:23:35.011-07:00Hello John

Also I suspect there may have been a small detachment of personnel living on site for security/running/maintaining etc.Davehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18003299348027486816noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8615291207225433851.post-51404461315172770452012-03-24T01:40:02.134-07:002012-03-24T01:40:02.134-07:00Dave
